Have you ever wondered what it feels like to race around a velodrome?
Ever wanted to ride around banks with angles that seem to defy gravity?
Looking for a style of training that does not impact joints and is suited to people of all ages?
Whether it's your desire to become the next Shane Kelly or Anna Meares, experience a different form of training method, or purely meet new people, track cycling is the sport for you!
Track cycling events encompass both explosive power and cardio fitness, meaning it meets the needs of all people no matter their shape and size.
CycleSport Victoria, CSV, the governing body of cycling for Victoria, offers both individuals and groups the opportunity to ride at a world class velodrome - the Darebin International Sports Centre (DISC) in Thornbury, Melbourne.
A CSV 'Come ’n Try session' allows individuals to experience the thrill of track cycling in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment under the watchful eyes of nationally qualified coaches.
CSV also conducts school clinics which gives schools students the opportunity to ride on the velodrome and learn new skills from expert coaches. Track bike hire included!
In addition to DISC, Victoria boasts a number of excellent track facilities with nationally registered clubs just waiting to share their love for the track with you. Many clubs run junior and adult programs specifically designed to cater for the needs of the novice rider.
Cycling Australia and CycleSport Victoria offer a range of very competitively priced licences, starting at $10 for children and $65 dollars for adults which include public liability and limited accident insurance cover for a period of 12 months.
